GREENSBORO, NC - The Roanoke College volleyball team went 4-0 this weekend to win the Greensboro Classic, hosted by Greensboro College.

With the sweep of the tournament this weekend, the Maroons now hold a record of 5-4 and are on a four match win streak.

The Maroons opened the Greensboro Classic with a win over Agnes Scott College by a score of 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-17). Sarah Long finished the contest with eight kills, while Allison White and Samantha Klostermann tallied seven and six, respectively. The assists were spread out among three setters: Shannon Stone (10), Samantha Toy (8), and Alexandra Martin (3). Mackenzie Tyree notched 10 digs, followed by Macey Tyree with six and Martin with four.

Roanoke finished the first evening by defeating Peace College in a score of three sets to one (20-25, 26-24, 25-22, 27-25). White led the team with nine kills, while Klostermann and Macey Tyree had six each. Stone tallied 13 assists, followed by Martin with seven and Toy with four. Mackenzie Tyree topped the team with 20 digs and Mackenzie Tyree had 15. Klostermann, White and Long each added a block during the contest as well.

The Maroons defeated host school Greensboro in five sets (25-23, 21-25, 24-26, 25-22, 15-11). Klostermann and White led the team with 12 kills a piece. Long completed the match with eight kills of her own. Martin tallied 24 assists while Toy finished with 16. The Duo of Mackenzie and Macey Tyree combined for 42 digs, 22 and 20 respectively.

Roanoke completed the sweep by beating Guilford in three sets (25-21, 25-14, 25-20). Rachel Kilinski tallied 11 kills, while white had eight. Toy and Martin tallied 12 assists each. Macey Tyree rifled off five aces in the match. Mackenzie Tyree notched 10 digs, and was named the MVP of the Greensboro Classic. Allison White made the all-tournament team as well for her performance.

The Maroons return to action on Tuesday, September 11^th as they play host to Randolph College in ODAC action. The contest is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
