SALEM - The Roanoke College volleyball team extended its win streak to six games after defeating Mary Baldwin 3-0 (26-24, 25-16, 25-12), on Thursday.

The Maroons build their record to 7-4, while the Fighting Squirrels now sit with a record of 0-7 on the season. This was the first meeting between the two teams and Roanoke now holds a 1-0 all-time advantage over Mary Baldwin.

In the first set, the Maroons built a comfortable 18-9 lead, but the Fighting Squirrels were determined to make a comeback, making a 14-5 run down the stretch. The Maroons were able to hold off Mary Baldwin in the end, as Sarah Long got the kill to end the set and take the 1-0 lead.

Roanoke jumped out to an early lead in the second set but didn't allow Mary Baldwin to catch back up as they did in the first set. The Maroons held their largest lead of the set at 12 points (22-10), and traded points with the Fighting Squirrels for the remainder of the set and a 25-16 victory.

Both teams went back and forth early in the third set, with the score as close as 9-8. But the Maroons rolled on for the remainder of the set going on a 16-4 run to close out the match and get the 3-0 victory over the Fighting Squirrels.

Allison White led the Maroons in kills with seven, followed by Samantha Klostermann with six and Sarah Long with five. Alexandra Martin topped Roanoke in assists with 12, while Samantha Toy finished with 10. Allison White finished the game with 14 digs, while Roanoke's digs leader this season, Mackenzie Tyree, tallied eight.

The Maroons return to ODAC play this weekend as they travel to Randolph-Macon and Virginia Wesleyan on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Their contest at Randolph Macon has a start time of 7:00 PM
