Volleyball Wins Sixth Straight, Defeats Shenandoah in ODAC Opener
WINCHESTER – The Roanoke College volleyball team won their sixth straight match on Tuesday night by defeating Shenandoah, 3-0 in the Maroons Old Dominion Athletic Conference opener.  The Maroons now have a record 6-3, 1-0 ODAC, while the Hornets have a mark of 5-3, 0-1 in ODAC play.
 
The last time the Maroons strung together six consecutive victories was in 2012, starting with a sweep of the Greensboro Classic, the same tournament the Maroons just went 4-0 in 2013.  Roanoke has also won three of its last four ODAC openers.
 
In Roanoke's 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-20) Macey Tyree led the team with 10 kills and three service aces.  Mackenzie Tyree tallied a team high 21 digs along with one service ace.  Samantha Klostermann finished the night with 12 digs and nine kills.  Alexandra Martin dished out 15 assists to go along with six digs.
 
The Maroons return to action on Friday, September 13th, as they play in their 2013 home opener against ODAC opponent, Bridgewater College.  That contest is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
