SALEM - The Roanoke College volleyball team topped Shenandoah University 3-1 (25-14, 25-14, 24-26, 25-18) on Saturday afternoon during Family Weekend.  The Maroons now have a record of 13-5, 2-2 in the ODAC, while the Hornets are 10-6, 3-1 in ODAC play.

The Maroons have an all-time record of 11-2 against Shenandoah.  Roanoke has won the last 10 meetings against the Hornets, including the last three since Shenandoah joined the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

Macey Tyree led the Maroons in kills, putting away 14 during the game.  She was the only player on either team with double-digit kills.  Jessica Block dished out 19 assists, leading Roanoke in the category.  Alexandra Martin also finished with 15 assists on the afternoon.  Ryan Hedgpeth topped the squad in digs with 15, while Tyree tallied nine in the effort.  The Maroons finished with 14 block assists, with Brooke Bostwick leading the charge with four.  Sarah Long and Logan Graves notched three block assists.

The Hornets were led in kills by Elizabeth Lamont, who tallied eight on the afternoon. She was followed by Blake Parkes and Kaitlyn Kelley, who each notched seven kills apiece.  Jasmine Callahan finished the game with 16 digs, while Rachel Cerretani finished with 15 ofher own.  Brandi Griffith tallied 17 digs, with Lamont posting 16 digs over four sets.

The Maroons return to action on Tuesday, September 30th as they travel to Raleigh, NC to face Meredith College.  That match is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
