SALEM -  The Roanoke College volleyball team picked up a 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-16) win over Hollins University on Tuesday evening.  The Maroons are now 17-7, 4-3 in ODAC play.
 
Roanoke volleyball has won four in a row, dating back a 3-1 win over Methodist University on October 9^th.  Since then, the Maroons have defeated Washington and Lee, Mary Baldwin and now, Hollins.  Before the game, Head Coach Blair Trail and the Maroon coaching staff took time to recognize the program's two seniors, Sarah Long and Macey Tyree.  So far, Tyree ranks 10^th all-time at Roanoke in digs (784), while Long sits second all-time as a Maroon in block assists (147), seventh in total blocks (212) and eighth in kills (756).
 
The Maroons were led in kills by Tyree, who put away nine on the evening.  She was followed by Long, who tallied seven.  Alexandra Martin was the team's assists leader, dishing out 15, with Jessica Block closely behind with 13.  Block also topped the team in service aces, winning four points off the serve for the Maroons.  Ryan Hedgepeth finished the game with a team high 14 digs. 
 
For Hollins, the team was led by Jordan Persinger who tallied seven kills on the night.  Lauren Hays followed up with five kills to her credit as well.  Lela Moore had all 13 of Hollins' assists on the evening.  Haley Ortiz pulled together 12 digs for Hollins in the effort.  Hays also finished the contest with six block assists, while Emily Lowther notched four of her own.
 
The Maroons return to action on Friday, October 24^th as the Maroons travel to Eastern Mennonite for more ODAC volleyball.  That contest is scheduled for a 6:30 PM start.
