The Lead: Roanoke opened ODAC play with a 3-2 victory over Emory & Henry Wednesday evening. RC won the first two games only to see E&H rally to force a fifth and deciding game which RC won to improve to 6-0 on the season.

How it Happened:

• RC jumped to a 2-0 lead after taking game one 25-20 and game two 25-21.
• Game one was tied at 19-19 before three consecutive kills by Allison White vaulted RC out in front for good.
• Game two was tied at 18-18 when a Kylah Blackmore kill got the Maroons going as they won seven of the final 10 points to take the game.
• The Wasps rallied and took the next two games to even the match and force a fifth and deciding game.
• Game five was tied at 9-9. Back-to-back attack errors and a kill by White gave RC a 12-9 lead. With the score 13-11, RC got a kill from Sydney Daniel and an ace from Jessica Block to close out the match.
• Blackmore and Daniel each had 13 kills, Daniel had 10 kills of her own and Block dished out 48 assists.
• Defensively, Alexandra Martin had 27 digs, while Blackmore added 12 for a double-double.

Up Next: Roanoke will host the Maroon Invitational Friday and Saturday. RC will open the tournament against Ferrum at 3:00 p.m.
