Sweet 16: RC Volleyball stays undefeated with a win over Randolph

Score: Roanoke 3, Randolph 0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-21)
Records: Roanoke 16-0, 6-0 ODAC / Randolph 2-15, 0-6 ODAC
The Lead: Roanoke College volleyball didn't miss a beat on Friday evening and improved its record to 16-0 and 6-0 in the ODAC with a 3-0 win over Randolph College.

How it Happened:
  • In game one, RC Gained momentum after attack errors by the Wildcats and service aces by Jessica Block to cut the Randolph lead to 14-13. Roanoke was able to pull away at the 21-20 mark to win the set 25-21.
  • RC won the second set by slowly pulling away in the middle of the set. After the Maroons gained a 13-10 advantage, they didn't look back in the 25-16 victory that included six kills by Sydney Daniel.
  • The Maroons pulled away to a 20-11 lead, and had to withstand the Wildcat's comeback to win the set 25-21
  • Sydney Daniel led the Maroons with 10 kills to be followed by Logan Graves who pitched in eight.
  • Alexandra Martin led RC with 19 digs, and Jessica Block led the Maroons in assists with 27 to go along with her three service aces.
Up Next: The Maroons will have one of its toughest tests of the season when they face Randolph-Macon at home on Tuesday, October 6th at 7:00 p.m. The Yellow Jackets are 14-3 overall with a conference record of 5-0.
