The 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Volleyball Preseason Poll was released on Friday afternoon and Roanoke College comes in at sixth as voted on by the league's 12 coaches.

Roanoke posted a 6-4 overall record in an abbreviated, due to the Covid pandemic, season that would see the Maroons finish fourth in the regular season before being eliminated in a five-set loss to Bridgewater in the ODAC Volleyball Championship quarterfinals. with no seniors a season ago, the roster will return in tact to go with a big freshman class to give the Maroons experience and depth. Linsey Bailey is back for her senior season after being named All ODAC in each of her first three seasons. The outside hitter eclipsed the 1,000 kill mark back in the spring and will anchor an offense that recorded 496 kills in just 10 matches. On the back row, libero Kennedy Clemmer is back after being named all conference in each of her first two seasons. Roanoke was fourth in the ODAC with 10.96 assists per set and both Olivia Newman and Logan Pasley are back as the primary ball handlers. Parker Moody, Ryanna Clarkand Claire Williams were each ranked in the top 20 in the ODAC in blocks per set.

Roanoke will start the 2021 campaign with a home match against Meredith on September 1st before heading to Averett for the 2021 Cougar Classic. The Maroons will host seven other schools in the two-day, 16 match Maroon classic on September 10th and 11th. Roanoke will play a majority of their matches away from the Cregger Center the rest of the way, including trips to Washington and Lee as well as Lynchburg and Virginia Wesleyan. The Maroons will host Bridgewater on October 6th while Ferrum and Randolph-Macon come to Salem for an ODAC tri-match on the 16th. The last home match will be against Shenandoah on the 23rd before wrapping up the regular season at Randolph College on October 29th.
