  • Six Maroons Honored for Academic Success
    July 14, 2022
    The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced their 2022 Academic All State teams on Thursday morning. Six Maroons were honored for not only their athletic accomplishments, but for their academic success. Four of the six carry a 4.00 Grade Point Average (GPA), while the others sport a 3.974 and 3.966 gpa.

  • Haden and Behe Earn Academic All District Honors

    The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced their Academic All District teams for soccer on Thursday afternoon. A pair of Maroons, one women's and one men's, were honored for their performance in the classroom as well as on the field. Seniors Bryan Haden and Zach Behe were named Academic All District and now move to the nationwide voting for the Academic All American teams.
  • Roanoke Sees Four Named All ODAC

    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their annual all conference awards for women's soccer on Thursday afternoon. Four Roanoke players were named All ODAC this season. Morgan O'Neill and Eliza Ryan earned the honor for the second straight season and were joined by Mia Clary and Emma Woods as all conference selections.

    The Quarterfinals of the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women’s Soccer Tournament got started on Tuesday afternoon when the Maroons traveled to top ranked Virginia Wesleyan. Neither team would score in the opening half with the Marlins enjoying a shot edge. The match would remain scoreless heading into the final minutes when a Virginia Wesleyan goal with just 1:40 on the clock would advance the Marlins to the semifinal round.
  • Maroons Fall In Regular Season Finale

    The Roanoke women’s soccer team made the trip north to Winchester to face Shenandoah University on the final day of the 2021 regular season. A late first half goal would give the Hornets the lead at the break. After another score in the opening stages of the second half, Shenandoah would go on for the 2-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win.
  • Roanoke Falls To Defending Champs

    Roanoke made the mid-week trip to face the defending Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Champions from Bridgewater on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles scored in the opening minutes to take an early advantage. After another Bridgewater score pushed the lead to two, Roanoke answered and trailed by one goal with 25 minutes remaining. However, the Eagles netted an insurance score for the 3-1 final.

    The Roanoke women’s soccer team traveled to Atlanta to face Emory University on Friday afternoon in a non-conference matchup. The home team scored in the opening minute and added three more first half goals to take the match, 4-0.
  • Maroons Pick Up ODAC Win Over Ferrum

    Roanoke played host to Ferrum on Tuesday night. On the Maroon’s 11th shot of the first half, they finally found the back of the net and took the 1-0 advantage into the break. In a five-minute stretch of the second half, Roanoke was able to add a pair of scores to their lead and picked up the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over Ferrum, 3-0.

    For the first time in a week, the Roanoke College women’s soccer team was in action when they traveled east to face the University of Lynchburg on Saturday afternoon. A pair of Hornet, first half, goals was the difference as Roanoke fell in ODAC play.
  • Maroons Host Marlins in Vs. Cancer Match

    Saturday was the Roanoke College Vs. Cancer match, used to bring awareness and funding for pediatric brain cancer, the deadliest disease affecting children in the United States. The Maroons faced off with Virginia Wesleyan in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action. The Marlins got a goal midway through the first half to take a 1-0 lead into the break. A late Marlin score would make it 2-0 as the visitors picked up the ODAC win.

    Before Saturday’s match with Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rival Randolph-Macon, the crowd at Kerr Stadium took a moment to honor the seven graduating seniors in the women’s soccer program. After the festivities, the match would remain scoreless for much of the first half. However, with less than two minutes before the break, the Yellow Jackets would score to break the tie and take a 1-0 edge into the half. Two Randolph-Macon scores in a two-minute span in the second half would see the visitors take the match, 3-0.
  • Roanoke Picks Up First ODAC Win

    After opening Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play with a 1-1 draw at Washington and Lee, the Roanoke women’s soccer team welcomed Randolph to Kerr Stadium for a mid-week matchup. Two scores in the first 15 minutes would see Roanoke take control early. A WildCat score made it 3-1 at the half. The second 45 minutes belonged to the Maroons as they pulled away for the 5-1 ODAC victory.
  • Last Second Score Forces Overtime

    With the non-conference matchup with Lynchburg on Wednesday canceled for weather, the Roanoke women’s soccer team traveled to Lexington to open Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play on Saturday afternoon. The Maroons and Generals played the first 45 minutes to a scoreless draw. With less than 15 minutes left to play, the Generals netted the go ahead score. However, with just seconds left on the clock, Roanoke got the equalizer and the match headed to overtime. After 20 extra minutes, neither team could break the tie and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
  • United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

    For the ninth consecutive season, the Roanoke College women's soccer team has received the Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches. The Maroons have earned the honor each year since 2013.

  • Women Record Another Shutout

    After falling for the first time this season, the Roanoke College women’s soccer team looked to get back to their winning ways when they welcomed a winless Pfeiffer squad to Kerr Stadium. The Maroons would score off a corner kick to make it 1-0. Later in the first half, Roanoke would get a second goal and take a 2-0 lead into the break. The defense made the lead hold up as RC went to 6-1 on the season.
  • Roanoke Falls At Christopher Newport

    For the third time in as many matches, the Roanoke College women’s soccer team was on the road, this time a trip to face Christopher Newport was on the schedule. The Maroons took their 5-0 record to start the campaign to Newport News. The home team struck early, scoring a pair of goals in the first 12 minutes of play. Roanoke would net a late score, but it wasn’t enough as CNU defeated the Maroons, 4-1.

    When the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their players of the week, Roanoke College sophomore Morgan O'Neill was named Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
  • Maroons Win Again
    September 12, 2021
    The Maroons stayed in Oneonta after defeating the Red Dragons yesterday to face Hartwick on Sunday afternoon. Roanoke got on the board quickly and added a second tally just 11 minutes into the match. Coming out of the break with a 3-0 edge, the Maroons would add three more goals in the second half to cruise to a 6-0 victory over the Hawks. Roanoke has opened the season by winning five straight matches and outscoring their opponents 20-1.
  • Road Shutout For Maroons

    Roanoke College took their 3-0 record on the road for a trip to New York. The first stop would be a visit to Oneonta for a match with the Red Dragons on Saturday afternoon. Just over 17 minutes into the match, Roanoke got the first score of the game and took the 1-0 advantage into the break. A second half goal would increase the lead as Roanoke picked up their third shutout in their first four contests.
  • Early Goals Carry Maroons

    Roanoke College faced off with Farmingdale State on the final day of the 2021 Roanoke Showcase Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Maroons and Rams came into the match unbeaten on the weekend. Roanoke struck early and often, netting three goals during the first 15 minutes of action. The Rams would get one late in the first half but it wasn’t enough as the Maroons ran their early season record to 3-0.

    Roanoke College got the 2021-22 season off to a quick start when they hosted Greensboro College on the first day of classes. The match would remain scoreless heading into the second half when Roanoke netted their first goal of the season in the first 10 minutes of the second half. The Maroons would add another late to take the opener 2-0.

    The 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women's Soccer Preseason Poll was released on Wednesday afternoon. Roanoke College was picked fifth in the 13 team league, as voted on by the conference coaches.
