As an athlete, Tiffany starred in baseball and track while at Roanoke.

His legendary feats once earned him mention in Ripley’s "Believe It or Not" column after pitching a winning doubleheader for Roanoke. He pitched the first game with his right arm and then won the second game with his left.

In 1957, he gave Roanoke College a Founders Memorial of stones collected from the College’s original site in Augusta County.

The College lost a very loyal alumnus when Tiffany died in 1967.
