The NCAA DIII South Regional was held on Saturday morning over the 6K (women) and 8K (men) courses in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The Roanoke women finished 18th in the field of 24 while the RC men placed 11th amongst the 23 competing teams.
The Roanoke College men's and women's cross-country teams competed at the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships on Saturday morning. The women competed at a distance of 6K over the course in Bridgewater while the men challenged the 8K layout. The Maroon women (152) finished sixth with the men (119) earning a third-place finish at the conference championship meet.
The Roanoke college men's and women's cross-country teams traveled to Louisville to compete in the Lou Cross Country Classic, one of the most highly attended meets in the country. The Men placed 30th, up five spots from their trip to Kentucky back in 2019. The RC women placed 32nd out of 41 competing college and universities.
The Roanoke college men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Winchester to compete in the 2021 Horney Harrier hosted by Shenandoah University at the Kernstown Battlefield. The men finished 2nd on the 8K course while the women also recorded a runner-up finish on their 6K course.
The Roanoke cross country teams made the trip east to Lynchburg for the 2021 WildCat XC Invitational. The Roanoke men finished 1-2-3 on their way to winning the event. The women were well on their way to making it a Maroon sweep when the lead pack of Roanoke runners were guided off the course near the finish by course marshals dropping the team from a potential win to a 3rd place finish.
