  • RBI singles from Sam Watson and Guida in the visitor half of the fourth inning pushed the Roanoke advantage to 4-1.
  • In the fifth inning, Roanoke loaded the bases with no outs and moved ahead 5-1 when Dean Hermanson walked to bring home Decker. VWC escaped further damage, getting three consecutive outs to retire the side.
