The Lead: Roanoke picked up a 5-3 win to open up the key ODAC doubleheader in Salem.
How it Happened:
- In the Roanoke second inning, Will Decker singled to open the inning and moved to second on a groundout. Decker would score when Drew Mikula's come backer to the pitcher was thrown away. Mikula scored later in the inning on a Scott Ellis RBI groundout.
- Collier Donald singled with one out in the RC third inning and advanced to third when a pickoff attempt was thrown away. Decker then singled home Donald to push RC's lead to 3-0.
- The Maroons tacked on a pair of runs in the sixth inning when Mikula walked to open the frame and moved to second on an Ellis single. The pair then moved up a base on a sacrifice bunt and each scored on a Sean Guida single to make it 5-0.
- R-MC rallied in the ninth inning scoring three times but RC reliever Craig Kiley got the final three outs to secure the win for John Ruhlman who went eight plus innings. The lefty gave up just seven hits and two runs, while striking out five.

The Lead: Randolph-Macon earned a split in the ODAC doubleheader with an 8-4 win in the nightcap.
How it Happened:
- Roanoke got on the board in the first inning when Donald knocked a solo home run with one out to make it 1-0.
- RC doubled its lead in the second inning when Sam Watson doubled with two outs then came home to score on an R-MC error to make it 2-0.
- The Yellow Jackets got on the board with an unearned run in the third inning then scored twice in the fourth inning to move in front 3-2.
- With R-MC leading 4-2 in the visitor half of the seventh inning, the Yellow Jackets loaded the bases with no outs and scored twice to extend their lead to 6-2.
- RC rallied in the next half inning when a Donald double and a Dean Hermanson single put runners on first and third with one out. Mikula walked to load the bases and Kiley followed with a double to make it a 6-4 game.
- R-MC got those runs right back in the top of the eighth to go up 8-4 and seal the win.
Up Next: Roanoke will be the sixth-seed in the 2017 ODAC Baseball Championship which starts Thursday at City Stadium in Lynchburg. The Maroons will face No. 1 Shenandoah at 11:00 a.m.
