Men's Lacrosse Wins 21-6 in ODAC Action Over Randolph-Macon
ASHLAND - The Roanoke College men's lacrosse team defeated Randolph-Macon College 21-6 on Saturday night in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action. The Maroons are now 6-3; 3-0 in the ODAC, while the Yellow Jackets are 4-7; 0-3 in ODAC play.

The Yellow Jackets put the first run up on the board, as Jason Andrews scored the first goal in the first three minutes of the contest. Roanoke then rattled off five consecutive goals, as Conner DuBois scored two goals, while Richard Lachlan, Joey Dishaw, and Kyle Smith netted one goal each. With 4:08 to play in the first quarter, the Maroons had a 5-1 lead. Shortly after the Maroons fifth goal, Randolph-Macon's Robert Fox scored an unassisted goal, pulling within three, 5-2. Roanoke closed out the period with three more goals, as Brayden Gerrie, Spencer Parsons and Lachlan found the back of the net. At the end of one, Roanoke had an 8-2 lead.

The Maroons held Randolph-Macon scoreless in the second quarter as five different Maroons scored. Lachlan, Mike Hayden, Chad Smith, John Rayburn and Tyler Cockey all picked up a goal in the second, entering halftime with a 13-2 lead.

Randolph-Macon's Josh Merwin opened the third quarter with a goal, closing the deficit to 10, 13-3. Charlie Shugrue, Will Pilat and Mike Hayden proceeded to score over the next seven minutes to go ahead by 13, 16-3. Both teams traded a goal to end the third quarter, as Roanoke led 17-4.

In the opening moments of the fourth quarter, Tyler McWilliams scored, shortly followed by Joey Dishaw. With 11:38 left in the game, Roanoke led 20-4. After Randolph-Macon scored two more goals, Marquis Terrell scored in the closing moments of the game, to give Ronaoke it's 21st goal, and a 21-6 win.

The latest ODAC player of the week, Richard Lachlan, and Conner Dubois led the team with three goals each, while DuBois had two assists and Lachlan had one. Tyler McWilliams led the team in assists with four, going along with his one goal. Joe Dishaw and Mike Hayden finished the game with two goals each. Pease played 56 minutes between the pipes, making 14 saves and giving up four goals.

Randolph-Macon was led offensively by Jason Andrews who scored two goals on the night. The Yellow Jackets saw one goal each from Robert Fox, Josh Merwin, Justin Butler and Ryan Davidson. Jordan Devito was tabbed with the loss, giving up 16 goals and tallying 12 saves in 40 minutes of play.

The Maroons won in face-offs, 19-12, while also holding the edge in ground balls (45-43) and shots (52-34). The teams tied in successful clears with 19, and Randolph-Macon led in saves (19-14) and turnovers (19-14).

The Maroons return to action on Wednesday, April 3rd, as they host Shenandoah University in Kerr Stadium. That contest is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
