Kammerman Headlines Five Maroons On All ODAC Teams

Five Maroons named All ODAC in men's lacrosse

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced the All ODAC Men's Lacrosse teams on Wednesday afternoon. When the teams were released, five Maroons were named all conference. Luke Kammerman earned second team honors and was named Co-Rookie of the Year. George Gilbert and Sam Balch joined Kammerman on the second team while Luca Docking and John Dias earned third team distinction.

Kammerman, a freshman on attack, finished his first season in Salem as the team's assist leader with 25 helpers, ranking 3rd in the ODAC. Kammerman scored 15 goals and his 40 total points were 2nd on the team and top 15 in the conference. For his efforts in his first collegiate season, Kammerman was named 2021 ODAC Men's Lacrosse Co-Rookie of the Year.

Gilbert was named a member of the All ODAC second team as a midfielder. It was the first all conference honor of Gilbert's four year career at Roanoke. This season, Gilbert scored 23 goals (20th in the ODAC) to go with six assists while starting all 11 games. His five goals while a man up were tops on the team and 6th in the ODAC.

Balch returns to the All ODAC second team after earning the same honor after the 2019 season. The senior defender led the Maroons with 24 caused turnovers, tied for 2nd in the conference. Balch scored one goal with a pair of assists while picking up 23 ground balls and winning three of his seven face offs taken.  

Docking was named a third team attackman in his first season with Roanoke. The midfielder spent some time on attack as well and posted the third best point total on the team, 32, with 19 goals and 13 assists. In addition, he picked up 22 ground balls and caused nine turnovers while starting in all 11 games.

Dias, a long stick midfielder, played in all 11 games for the Maroons. His 13 caused turnovers and 34 ground balls were each third on the team. In addition to his stellar defense, Dias added one assist and was an crucial piece of a Roanoke team that was able to post above an 85% clear percentage for the season.
