Men's Soccer Ranked Sixth in Latest NSCAA South Region Poll

The Roanoke College men's soccer team is ranked sixth in the latest NSCAA South Region Poll announced this afternoon. The men moved up three spots from last week after defeating Virginia Wesleyan, 3-1 last weekend.
Head coach Scott Allison and the Maroons have their work cut out for them in the weeks ahead as five of the teams in the poll are on their schedule. The men tied Mary Washington (8th in the poll), 1-1 two weekends ago at home.
The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has represented well in the rankings. Fellow ODAC schools in the poll are Lynchburg (5th), Eastern Mennonite (9th) and Hampden-Sydney (10th).
Roanoke is currently 4-1-1 overall, 1-0 in the ODAC. The Maroons are led by senior Shaman Douglass, who leads the team in scoring (11 pts), goals (4), assists (3), shots (14) and shots on goal with 10.
Christopher Newport, the Maroons next opponent is ranked seventh in the poll. They will battle each other at Kerr Stadium tonight at 7 p.m. following the women's soccer match against Bridgewater at 5 p.m.
