Scott Allison Named 2012 NSCAA Division III South Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year
Roanoke College Men's Soccer head coach Scott Allison has been named 2012 NSCAA Division III South Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year, announced Tuesday. This is the second time Allison has garnered the honor, as he won the award once before in the 1993 season after leading the Maroons to the third round of the NCAA Tournament that year.

Allison closed his 27th and final season at the helm of the Maroons with a 13-5-1 record, including an 8-2-1 mark in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play. This was the sixth consecutive 10-win season for Roanoke, a feat that has never been accomplished in 60-plus years of the program. Allison had twice before led the Maroons to five consecutive 10-win seasons (1990-94; 2000-04). He coached seven players this season to All-ODAC honors, including ODAC Rookie of the Year, Tyler Carbaugh. Allison also guided senior defender Chris Conover, who was recently announced as an NSCAA Division III All-American. Conover is the seventh player to earn All-American honors under Allison's tutelage.

In 2012, Allison coached Roanoke to its ninth ODAC Championship, defeating Virginia Wesleyan 1-0 in double overtime. Because of Roanoke's success in the ODAC, Allison was named 2012 ODAC Coach of the Year for the eighth time in his career. Capturing the ODAC title sent the Maroons to the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championships, the sixth appearance in program history and first since 2007. On September 25th, the Maroons defeated Guilford 2-1 to earn Allison his 300th career victory, becoming the 21st active coach to reach the milestone. Allison finishes his coaching career at Roanoke with a record of 309-161-40.

Along with being named NSCAA Regional Coach of the Year, Allison is now eligible for selection as an NSCAA National Coach of the Year award, which will be announced at a later date.
