Roanoke has a 22-1 all-time record against Brigewater and have won the last 10 consecutive meetings between the two teams.
Both teams were unable to find the back of the net through the first 45 minutes of the contest. At the 59:15 mark in the second half, Patrick Bain opened the scoring for the Maroons with an unassisted goal, his second of the season. With just 2:22 to play in the game, Garrett Eldridge notched his fourth goal of the season, this time off of a direct kick. Eldridge's goal would be the final of the game, giving the Maroons the 2-0 victory
Bridgewater outshot Roanoke 15-13 and led in corner kicks 6-3. Eldridge led the Maroons in shots with four, followed by Tyler Carbaugh and Carl Leist with two each. Cole Sinclair played all 90 minutes in goal, tallying nine saves in the shutout.
The Maroons return to action on Saturday, October 20th as they play host to Washington & Lee at Donlad J. Kerr Stadium. That contest is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
