RC Men's Soccer Announces Fourth Annual Goal-A-Thon to Benefit Mich's Backpack
SALEM, Va. -- The Roanoke College Men's Soccer Program has announced its fourth annual Goal-A-Thon to benefit Micah's Backpack will take place on Friday, March 18 at RCs' Kerr Stadium.

During the Goal-A-Thon, the RC Men's Soccer team will be divided into teams of 5 players. Starting at 7:30 PM, teams will play timed, "small-sided" games at Kerr Stadium until a combined total of 100 goals is scored.

The minimum sponsorship is 25 cents per goal, however one time donations will be accepted as well. If you would like to help donate, CLICK HERE to see the Goal-A-Thon Donation form.  Please send your donations to men's soccer coach Ryan Pflugrad at the attached address.  Donations will be processed as they are received.  Half of the proceeds will be donated to Micah's backpack.  In the two previous times the Maroons have put on this event, they have raised $1,500.

Micah's Backpack addresses children's hunger issues by partnering with local schools to provide direct assistance to students and families who qualify for the free lunch program. Each week during the school year, the identified students receive a backpack filled with enough food for the weekend. The backpacks include two dinners, two lunches and two breakfasts. Weekly, nearly 70 volunteers from various academic, civic, and religious groups work together building community while packing the backpacks and the partner schools distribute the backpacks to the students

All are invited to watch the Goal-A-Thon as well, so please join the men's soccer team at Kerr Stadium on March 18th!
