The Lead: Sam Rauf's goal in the 18^th minute proved to be all the Maroons would need as Roanoke topped Bridgewater 1-0 in ODAC Men's Soccer Saturday evening in Salem.

How it Happened:

• Roanoke got on the board in the 18th minute when Tyler Carbaugh served a perfect corner kick into the box that Rauf was able to head into the right side of the net to put RC up 1-0.
• RC had a chance to double its lead just over three minutes later when Rob Lentine drew a foul in the box to get a penalty kick chance for the Maroons. Carbaugh took the PK but BC keeper Mark Davis turned the shot away to keep it a one goal game.
• Carbaugh had a pair of chances in the second-half but one shot was saved by Davis and his other went directly off the cross-bar and stayed out of the net.
• RC outshot BC 15-6 and held an 8-4 edge in corner kicks.
• Cole Sinclair made one save to get the shutout for RC, while Davis finished with six stops.

Roanoke will back in action on Tuesday when it travels to Guilford for a 7:00 p.m. ODAC match.
