The Lead: Roanoke scored a pair of second-half goals to notch its first victory of the 2016 season. 

How it Happened:

  • After a scoreless first-half, RC got the first goal of the match when Cole Thornton collected a rebound of his own shot and scored to make it 1-0.
  • Greensboro rebounded right back when Obi Collins leveled the match at 1-1 with a goal two minutes later.
  • Eli Betz got what proved to be the game-winner when he scored his first career goal with 13 minutes to go in the match.
  • Goalkeeper Nick Tadros made several key saves including a pair of breakaways to preserve the win.
