The Lead: Roanoke tallied four goals over a 17 minute span of the second-half en route to a 4-0 victory over Juniata Sunday afternoon in the Lynchburg Invitational.

How it Happened

  • The Maroons controlled the pace of play in the first-half, outshooting Juniata 13-1 and held a 6-0 edge in corner kicks.  
  • The match remained scoreless until the 68th minute when Jon-Cody Mactutus set up Jose Robertson for his first career goal, giving RC the only tally it would need.
  • Adam Yesbeck doubled the RC lead just over two minutes with his first goal of the season.
  • Mactutus notched his second point of the day when he fed Eli Betz for his second goal of the weekend to put RC up 3-0.
  • Kelby Zeiger got his first career goal just over two minutes after Betz's strike to round out the scoring for the Maroons.
  • RC held a 29-3 edge in shots for the match and a 14-1 edge in corner kicks.
  • The Maroons' backline did not allow a goal as Nick Tadros recorded his first career shutout.
