The Lead: A late second-half goal leads the Maroons to a 1-1 tie at Washington and Lee after two overtime periods.

How it Happened

  • The Maroons fired off six shots in the first half, with three coming in the final five minutes of the half but were unable to find the back of the net. RC's best chance to score came in the closing seconds when Brandon Bauer's shot was blocked by Gilien Beck to keep the match scoreless. 
  • After a total of 81 scoreless minutes, W&L's Reeves Duggan broke the deadlock with a goal off a rebound from a Nick Tadros save, taking a 1-0 lead.
  • With less than a minute of half left in regulation, Tim Mahabir scored on a free kick from right outside the box, evening the game 1-1.
  • Nick Tadros made two of his four saves in the first overtime while the RC defense controlled the second overtime with a 4-0 edge in shots.
  • Washington and Lee held a 17-12 lead in shots and a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks in the 110 minutes of play.
