The Lead: Men's Soccer fell 3-1 to Oglethorpe in a neutral site match-up Tuesday night in Pineville, N.C.
How it Happened:
- Nick Tadros made back-to-back diving saves to keep the game scoreless through the first four minutes of play.
- Oglethorpe took an early 1-0 lead as Topher Marshall found the back of the neck from the left side off a pass from Devon Patterson five minutes into the contest.
- Thirty minutes later, OU doubled its lead with a goal from Ryan Marcano to make it a 2-0 game
- Marc Hoppler fired off a shot with five minutes remaining in the first half but missed just wide to go leave the score 2-0 OU headed into the intermission.
- In the second half, OU's Patterson took a shot from the top of the box that tipped off Tadros' hands to make it 3-0 with 20 minutes left in regulation.
- Roanoke responded two minutes later with a goal from Brandon Bauer off a pass from Atticus Cooke to close the gap to 3-1.
- The Maroons held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks while the Stormy Petrels held a 13-8 advantage in shots.
