SALEM, Va. – The Roanoke College Men's and Women's Soccer teams hosted a free clinic for over 225 local youth players on Friday (Aug. 24) evening at Kerr Stadium.
The evening was designed to teach technical and tactical fundamentals of the game in an exciting way and to help players prepare for the upcoming soccer season.
Players got instruction from both RC coaching staffs and current players in addition to games, prizes and giveaways.
Both teams open play this weekend with the men hosting the Roanoke Invitational on Friday and Saturday. RC will play Oberlin on Friday, August 31 at 7:30 p.m. followed by Averett at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1. The women will kick off versus Gettysburg at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Lynchburg, followed by a match with Maryville at home on Sunday, Sept. 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Kerr Stadium.
