The Lead: Bridgewater scored three goals in a seven-minute stretch of the second-half en route to a 4-1 win over Roanoke on Saturday. 

How it Happened

  • BC got on the board in the 35th minute when Sam Beckman chipped a pass to Sam Franklin who was able to get behind the Maroon defense and score to make it 1-0.
  • The score remained that way until a Luke Stubbs goal at the 46:44 mark sparked a three goal run by the Eagles that was capped by Thomas White who scored at 48:52 and at 53:37 to make it 4-0.
  • Roanoke got its lone goal of the game in the in the 56th minute. Roanoke earned a corner kick and sent the ball into the box where it was headed several times. Liam Camilleri was the final person to head the ball and it landed at the feet of Alec Taitague who punched the ball into the net from point-blank range to put the Maroons on the board.
  • RC led in shots 12-10 and held a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
  • Zach Behe one save for RC, while Mark Collins finished the contest with seven saves, several in spectacular fashion.
