A pair of  Roanoke College men's soccer student-athletes, Alec Taitague and Kilian Buchel, will be competing this summer for National Teams of Guam and Liechtenstein.

Taitague, a rising senior (James River High School, FC Richmond), has received his second call up to the Senior Men's National Team of Guam. The Richmond native will be competing in a 10 day camp in Korea which will see the Guam National team face off against professional sides in the first and third divisions of the K-League as well as the U20 Korean National team. Taitague is eligible for play with the Guam Men's National Team, the Matao, through the citizenship of his paternal grandparents.

Last fall, Taitague traveled to Bahrain to face off against Cambodia in a two-leg competition, in which he received his first senior National Team Caps for Guam. Alec started and played the full 90 minutes in two matches as Guam played for the right to advance to the third round of the qualifiers for the 2023 Asian Cup Playoffs.

Incoming freshman Buchel (Triesen, Liechtenstein) has been called in to compete for Liechtenstein's U21 National team as the face off against several Swiss and Austrian professional clubs, youth and reserve teams, as well as the Switzerland U19 National Team in a tournament hosted in Lichtenstein. Buchel has previously represented Liechtenstein on the U17 National Team in several UEFA U17 qualifying matches.

The Maroons depart for a 10 day preseason trip to Barcelona Spain on August 7th and are set to open up their 2022 campaign at Kerr Stadium versus Stockton University at 6:00 PM on Saturday September 3rd.
