Connor Kinkema named CSCAA All American

When the College Swimming and Diving Coaches of America (CSCAA) announced their NCAA Division III, NAIA and NJCAA All-America teams for the 2020-21 season, Roanoke College junior Connor Kinkema was named an All American in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke.

The 2021 awards for Kinkema continue to mount after a season that would see him and his men's swimming teammates capture the program's first ever Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship. For his efforts at the conference championship meet, Connor was once again named 1st team All ODAC as well as claiming the title of ODAC Men's Swimmer of the Meet. Those honors came on the heels of his record breaking performances. Kinkema would set a new ODAC record in the 100 Breaststroke. After posting an ODAC and meet record of 56.38 at the 2020 championships, Kinkema posted a blistering time of 56 flat to rewrite the record books. On the final day, he would set two more records in the 400 Individual Medley and the 200 Breaststroke. In the 400 IM, Kinkema would post a final time of 4:02.77, besting his own previous record of 4:04.57. In the 200 Breast, Connor made it three for three in record breaking swims with a time of 2:01.90, shaving .19 off his old record in the event.

In early May, Kinkema was named 1st team All State by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) as well as being named the organization's Men's Swimmer of the Year.
