Meet: 2022 ODAC Swim Championships (Day Three)
Location: Greensboro, N.C.

The Lead: The 2022 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Swim Championships came to a close on Sunday. The four-day event was held at the Greensboro Aquatic Center and it was Washington and Lee on top of both the men's and women's podium at meets end. The Roanoke men would finish runner-up with Lynchburg placing 3rd. On the women's side, the Maroons came home 4th while Randolph-Macon was 2nd and Lynchburg 3rd.

Women's highlights:

  • 1650 Freestyle: Susanna Price would finish the longest event of the meet in a final time of 17:47.66 to finish runner-up.
  • 200 Backstroke: Bailey Gallagher touched 3rd in a time of 2:07.44 after posting just the 6th best time in the prelims.
  • 400 Freestyle Relay: The women wrapped up the Championship meet with a runner up finish by Lily Mullens, Elizabeth Roberts, Maria Vinson, and Price in a time of 3:35.64.

Men's highlights:

  • 1650 Freestyle: Josh Rauch set an ODAC record back in 2020 (16:23.58) and would see a pair of swimmers break that mark. Ethan Brewer would best the record but finished runner-up when he touched at 16:21.88. Rauch would finish 3rd with a time of 16:28.61.
  • 100 Freestyle: Xavier Williams finished third when he posted a time of 46.28.
  • 200 Breaststroke: Connor Kinkema was one of two swimmers to earn an NCAA B Cut when he finished runner up in a final time of 2:04.69.
  • 200 Fly: After winning and setting a record in the 500 Freestyle, Ben Tate picked up another win as he out-touched the field in a time of 1:53.06.
  • 400 Freestyle Relay: The Maroons closed out the meet with a runner up finish as the team of Tate, Mack Calvert, Brian Grimmett, and Williams posted a time of 3:07.77.
  • Tate was named 2022 ODAC Men's Swimmer of the Meet.
