The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced the 2021-22 all conference swim teams on Monday afternoon. In total, 16 men's and women's swimmers earned All-ODAC designation after the 2022 ODAC Swim Championships last weekend.
Swimming All-ODAC awards are generated from competition at the ODAC championships. Only individual events are considered when creating the honors lists. Those finishing first or second in an event earn All-ODAC First Team laurels. Third and fourth place finishers are recognized as All-ODAC Second Team members, and swimmers that chime in fifth and sixth receive All-ODAC Third Team accolades. A swimmer can only earn one all-conference honor, with their placement represented by their highest finish in an event at the championship.
Ben Tate was named ODAC Men's Swimmer of the Meet after seeing the senior win a pair of individual events while finishing 4th in a another. In the relay events, Tate was a member of a quartet of teams that earned three, 2nd place finishes and one 3rd place effort. In the 500 Freestyle, Tate set a new ODAC and ODAC Championship meet record with a final time of 4:35.31.
