The Short Story: The Roanoke College men's swim team opened up its 2022-23 season at the 2022 ODAC Relays finishing third with 312.5 points among the eight ODAC schools. The event features relays that teams do not compete in the rest of the season, including several with just three swimmers for each team. Washington and Lee won the ODAC Relays with 482 points with Lynchburg taking second with 314 points, just 1.5 ahead of the Maroons.

TOP FINISHES

  • The Maroons opened up by finishing 5th in the 100 Yard Free Relay, with the team of Jason Brooks, Dyllan Hartman, Mac Taylorand Mack Calvert finishing in a time of 42.20.
  • Brooks teamed up with Jacob Ambrose and Chris Snow to finish 4th in the 3x50 Yard Butterfly in a time of 1:13.04
  • In the 150 Yard Breast Relay, Snow was joined by Tommy Nichols and Logan Deal to finish 2nd in a time of 1:22.35.
  • Two Maroon relay teams finished in the top five in the 400 Yard Free Relay. Brooks, Calvert, Deal, and Xavier Williams finished 2nd in a time of 3:16.93 while Ambrose, Hartman, Josh Rauch, and Ethan Brewer finished 5th in a time of 3:19.74.
  • Snow, Davis Wheeler, and Deal finished 3rd in the 3x100 Yard IM Relay in a time of 2:48.61
  • Williams, Ambrose, Brewer, and Rauch finished 2nd in the 500 Yar FR (50-100-150-200) Relay in a time of 4:17.64. Taylor, Snow, Austin Nielsen, and Jacob Cole finished 4th in the event with a time of 4:25.38.
  • Calvert, Deal, Brooks, and Williams finished the 200 Yard Medley Relay in 1:37.61, good enough for 3rd place.
  • Connor Bitz, Wheeler, Taylor, and Morgan finished 5th in the 100 Yard UW Dolphin Kick Relay in a time of 48.34.
  • Deal, Calvert, Brooks, and Williams finished the final event of the day, the 200 Yard Free Relay, in third place with a time of 1:27.51.

UP NEXT

  • The Maroons are back on the road next Saturday, October 15 when they visit Bridgewater for a dual meet with the women's teams. The first event with the Eagles is scheduled for 1 p.m.
