The Short Story: The Roanoke College men's swim team opened up the dual meet portion of the 2022-23 season with a dominating 144-117 win over the Bridgewater College Eagles on Saturday afternoon at Nininger Natatorium in Bridgewater.
TOP FINISHES
- In the first event of the day, the team of Davis Wheeler, Logan Deal, Jason Brooks, and Xavier Williams touched the wall first in the 200 Meter Medley Relay with a time of 1:49.80
- The 800 Meter Free saw Josh Rauch (8:47.79) and Jacob Cole (9:27.11) finish first and third, respectively.
- Ethan Brewer and Jacob Ambrose finished 1-2 in the 200 Meter Free with times of 2:00.94 and 2:02.40, respectively.
- Wheeler finished third in the 100 Meter Back with a time of 1:04.35.
- Deal touched the wall second in the 100 Meter Breaststroke with a time of 1:07.54.
- The 200 Meter Fly saw the Maroons finish 1-3 with Ambrose winning the event in 2:16.99. Kellen Drawbaugh and Chris Snow finished second (2:20.00) and third (2:24.18), respectively.
- Williams and Brooks finished first and third in the 50 Meter Free in times of :24.19 and :24.96.
- Williams won back-to-back men's events with a win in the 100 Meter Free in :54.94 with Deal touching second in :56.48.
- In the 200 Meter Back, Cole and Wheeler finished second and third with times of 2:20.91 and 2:22.27.
- Snow finished second in the 200 Meter Breaststroke in 2:35.03.
- Roanoke finished in the top three spots in the 400 Meter Free with Rauch (4:20.13), Brewer (4:21.29), and Ambrose (4:28.89) taking all finishing ahead of their Eagles opponents.
- Brooks claimed second place in the 100 Meter Fly with a time of :58.97
- Snow took home third place in the 200 Meter IM with a time of 2:21.26
- The final event of the day saw the team of Deal, Dyllan Hartman, Brooks, and Williams win the 200 Meter Free Relay with a time of 1:38.67.
