SALEM, Va--- Matt Osman (Roseland, NJ, West Essex Regional) was the only Maroon to come away with a victory on Tuesday as the men's tennis team fell on the road to Averett University, 8-1. The Cougars improve to 2-1, while Roanoke drops to 0-1.

Osman, a senior, defeated Ryan Atkins, 6-0, 6-1 in number six singles. It is the third career singles victory for the New Jersey native.

The Maroons take to the road again on Wednesday to travel to Washington & Lee at 3:00. The Generals were tabbed as the top team in the ODAC in the conference's preseason poll and are coming off their second-straight ODAC Championship.
