LYNCHBURG - The Roanoke College men's tennis team battled in a tight match to defeat Lynchburg College 5-4 on Thursday. The Maroons have a record of 7-3, 4-1 in ODAC play, while the Hornets are now 3-4, 1-3 in the ODAC.

The Maroons picked up one win in doubles, victorious in the #1 spot. Matt Kessler and James Lee defeated Kevin Lee and Josh Johnson 8-0 in the #1 battle. Roanoke's #2 (Migliarese and Morris) and #3 (Young and Webster) fell 8-3 in their matches.

James Lee continues his hot streak at #2 singles, defeating Derek Kegerreis 6-3; 7-5. Roanoke's 4-6 singles were a big factor in Roanoke's win. Chris Migliarese (#4) defeated Owen Landon 6-4; 6-4. Ian Webster took on Tyler Long in #5 singles, winning the matchup 6-1; 6-2. Jake Morris capped off the victory for Roanoke with a 6-1; 6-0 win over Kevin Lee in #6 singles.

The Maroons return to action on April 2^nd, as they take on Greensboro College on the road. That contest is scheduled for a 3:30 PM start.
