Men's Tennis Posts 5-4 Win over Randolph-Macon in ODAC Opener
SALEM - The Roanoke College men's tennis team defeated Randolph-Macon, 5-4 in their ODAC home opener on Sunday afternoon. The Maroons start the season with a 2-0 record, 1-0 in ODAC play, while the Yellow Jackets are 0-2, 0-2 in the ODAC.

Randolph-Macon's Connor Hoerr and Michael Baxter defeated Roanoke's James Lee and Matt Kessler in #1 doubles in a hard fought, 8-6 match. Roanoke battled back in #2 doubles as Chris Migliarese and Jacob Morris defeated Ira Usry and John Adam 8-1. In the #3 doubles match, the Yellow Jackets reclaimed the lead as Tom Lewis and Jody Cox won 8-6 over Ian Webster and Lewis Young.

At #1 singles, Kessler defeated Hoerr 6-2; 7-6 (7-4), while Lee also picked up the victory in #2 singles over Baxter (6-3; 6-0). Young fell to Usry in #3 singles, 7-5; 6-2, while Migliarese took on Adam in a three set match, falling 5-7; 6-3; 6-2. Down 4-3, Roanoke won the final two matches in both the #5 and #6 positions. Webster defeated Lewis, 6-2; 6-1, while Morris won over Cox, 6-3; 6-2, giving the Maroons the 5-4 ODAC victory.

The Maroons return to action on Wednesday, February 27th as they take on Averett Unviersity at the Elizabeth Campus Courts. That contest is scheduled for a 2:30 PM start.
