Men's Tennis Goes 2-0 To Start Spring Break Trip
HILTON HEAD, SC – The Roanoke College men's tennis team went 2-0 to start the 2015 men's tennis season, sweeping both Lebanon Valley and St. John's Fisher, 9-0 during Spring Break action.

In the match against St. John Fisher, the Maroons picked up a victory, 9-0.  Jacob Morris and Matt Kessler defeated Patrick McGrath and Jake Zarzycki in #1 doubles, 8-3.  Matt Delgreco and Holden Branham played at the #2 doubles position, going into extra games, defeating Kevin Kolawiec and Adam Moran 9-7.  Joey Ross and Jose Alvarado took down Kyle Stich and Dan Tedesco, 8-3 in #3 doubles.

In singles action, Ross took on Kulawiec at #1 singles, picking up the victory 6-1, 7-6.  Kessler won at #2 singles over Patrick McGrath, 6-0, 6-4.  Jacob Morris played for the Maroons at the #3 singles position, taking down Jake Zarzycki 6-2, 6-1.  Matt Delgreco was victorious at #4 singles against Adam Moran, Winning 6-0, 6-2.  Jose Alvarado had matching 6-1, 6-1 sets in his win at #5 singles over Dan Tedesco.  Holden Branham completed the sweep with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Kyle Stich at #6 singles.

The Maroons faced off against Lebanon Valley on Sunday evening, also picking up a 9-0 sweep in their effort.  Kessler and Morris won again at the #1 doubles spot, victorious with a score of 8-2.  Ross and Alvarado also won at the #2 doubles position by the score of 8-2.  Delgreco and Branham saw a victory at the #3 spot by winning 8-3.  Ross (6-0, 7-5), Kessler (6-1, 6-3), and Morris (6-2, 6-2) all won in singles spots 1-3 respectively.  Late play saw victories for Delgreco, Branham and Alvarado as well.

The Maroons continue play over the course of the next week as part of their spring break week in Hilton Head, SC.
