The Lead: Roanoke won four straight singles matches to take a 5-4 decision over Emory & Henry on Sunday.

How it Happened: 

  • Grayson White and Jack Fishwick defeated Dalton Shipley and Grayson McCarty 8-2 at No. 1  in the first doubles match of the day to give Roanoke a 1-0 lead.
  • Emory & Henry took a 2-1 lead after the doubles as Brandon McGuire and Andrew McClung defeated Alston Martin and Michael Morrell 8-7 at No. 3.
  • Jack Doriss earned the first singles win of the day with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Shipley at No. 3.
  • Thomas Hodges gave RC the lead with a 6-4, 6-4 win over McCarty at the No. 4.
  • Fishwick defeated Archer Marlow 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
  • At No. 1, Grayson White secured the win with a 6-4, 6-4 win over McGuire.
