The Short Story: The Maroons opened up conference action with a commanding road victory over Randolph, sweeping the three doubles matches and claiming five victories in singles play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Roanoke grabbed a 3-0 lead with a clean sweep in doubles. Federico Maccari and Julio Marques won 8-7 (7-1) in the top doubles flight, while Zach Kriebel and Hardt Lesko cruised to an 8-1 victory at #2 doubles, and John-Henry Herrington and Jackson Wagner won 8-0 at #3.
- The Maroons clinched the match with wins from Lance Beheler at #6 singles and Herrington at #5. Beheler defeated Luke Mosley 6-0, 6-1, while Herrington knocked off Max Karrass 6-1, 6-3.
- Randolph's Dev Mani topped Kriebel 6-2, 6-2 at #2 singles.
- The Maroons rounded out their day with three more singles victories. Maccari bested Nicolas Alvarado 4-6, 6-3, 13-11 in the top singles flight, while Lesko beat Angelo De Asis 6-4, 6-4 at #3 and Marques recorded a 6-4, 6-2 win over Jose Merhej at #4.
