Meet: Vince Brown Invitational
Location: Christopher Newport University | Newport News, Va.
The Lead: Four Maroons recorded top-ten finished as Roanoke competed at the Vince Brown Invitational hosted by CNU Saturday.
Highlights:
- Megan Boyles took fifth in the 1600m run with a time of 6:13.99, earning RC's top finish on the day.
- Claire Brooks followed suit taking sixth in the 800m run with a time of 2:26.11
- Caity Ashley finished ninth in the mile clocking a 5:27.39.
- Lindsey Baxter rounded out the top-ten finishes tying for 10th in the pole vault jump off with a score of 2.63m. Baxter also took 19th in the 400m dash with a time of 1:04.70.
- Ellen Bauer ran the 3000m in 11:10.12 earning 16th place
- Mykal Dawkins finished the 400m dash in 53.74 seconds good enough for 18th place.
- With a time of 2:06.17, Athey Crump placed 20th in the 800m run.
Up Next: Roanoke returns to action Feb. 10-11 as it hosts the Finn Pincus Invitational in the Kerr-Cregger Fieldhouse.
