Roanoke Track & Field will host the 4th annual Finn Pincus Invitational on January 24 & 25 in the Kerr-Cregger Fieldhouse on the campus of Roanoke College

27 colleges and universities along with several of Roanoke's finest alums will be competing this weekend highlighted by:

Carmen Graves ('13) ran at the US Olympic Trials in the 3000m Steeplechase in 2016. As a Maroon, Graves was a 5X All American in the 800 with a PB of 2:07.  She still holds the school record in the steeple, mile, 1500, 400 hurdles and the triple jump! Look for a fast time and possible facility record in the 3000 meters Saturday afternoon. 

John Wiggins ('17) has a personal best of 32:58 in the 10,000 and anchored the Distance Medley three years for ODAC honors.  Wiggins currently the Head Coach of Indoor T&F at Cave Spring HS. He will be competing in the Men's 5000 meters on Friday night.

Caity Ashley ('17) ran 3 hours, 3 minutes in the Boston Marathon last April and set a personal best of 80 minutes in the half marathon in Richmond last Fall.  As a Maroon, Ashley won the ODAC 3000 Steeplechase twice and earned All ODAC honors in multiple track events and cross country.  She will be competing in the Women's 5000 meters on Friday night

Maroons to watch:

  • Senior Claire Aurand will be competitive in the 60 and 200 meters, where she has earned All ODAC honors. 
  • Junior Alison Moreau will make her debut in the 60 and will also high jump. 
  • Twice an ODAC champion, Senior Lindsay Baxter will be among the best pole vaulters, with junior Claire Trotto (All ODAC) and freshman Chloe Van Duyne challenging her. 
  • Jayna Jean-Jules will heave the weight throw, an event she has won twice at the ODAC championships. 

and in the men's competition:

  • Micah Ray will lead the Maroons in the 400 meters. 
  • Corbin Turner is one of the better pole vaulters; the junior has several All ODAC honors to his credit. 

Among the Nation's Best:

  • Josh Chepkesir:  UNC Pembroke NCAA D2 All American will be competing in the 3000 meters. 
  • Kenny Benton (TN Wesleyan) earned NAIA All American honors last year and will lead the field in the 400, and 4 X 400 Saturday evening. 
  • Devon Moore (Carson-Newman) is expected to challenge for victories in both the 60 and 200.  The junior has earned several All American honors. 
  • Shellece Clark is only a freshman at St. Augustine's, but is currently ranked high in the 200.  She will race for top honors in the 60 and 200 this weekend. 

Field event competition starts at 4 pm this Friday, with track events beginning at 6 pm.  Saturday morning both track events begin 10 am followed by field events starting at 11am.

With almost 900 athletes competing, parking will be at a premium with spaces off Thompson Memorial Blvd and more at the Bast Center off North Market on the west side of campus.
