RC Hosts 4th Annual Finn Pincus Invitational

The Basics
Event: 4th Annual Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College
Location: Salem, Va.

The Lead: The Roanoke College men's and women's track teams defended their home track in the Kerr-Cregger Fieldhouse this weekend.  

Women's Highlights:

  • The RC women closed out the two-day meet with a 3rd place effort in the 4x400 Relay. Eliza Ryan, Alison Moreau, Savannah Gheen, and Hannah Koepfinger combined to post a final time of 4:16.82.
  • Moreau added a 5th place finish in the Women's High Jump (4'11") and Koepfinger came home 9th in the 60 M Hurdles.
  • In the 4000 Distance Medley Relay (DMR), Lauren Brown, Zoe Dunlap, Hailey Draper, and Emma Maras registered a 5th place result. Individually, Maras was also 5th in the 3000 meters.
  • RC would place a trio of athletes in the top 10 of the Pole Vault. Lindsey Baxter finished 3rd with a vault of 10'0" while Claire Trotto (5th), and Louise Tester (7th) each placed in the top 10.
  • Jayna Jean-Jules posted a final distance of 45'10.50" in the Weight Throw, good enough for 7th place.

Men's Highlights:

  • The Roanoke men got the meet off to a solid start on Friday evening when the quartet of Troy Crawley, Blake Morin, Brandon Justice, and Sam Crawford posted a win in the 4x200 Relay. Their time of 1:33.19 was almost a second and a half ahead of the field.
  • Crawford would earn and individual top 10 when he posted a final time of 52.72 in the 400 meters. Crawford finished three spots behind teammate Micah Ray and his time of 52.34.
  • Friday night would also see the team of Cooper Neeble, Zach Dalton, Tiro Moeng, and Peter Smith finish 7th in the 4000 DMR. Neeble would also finish 6th in the 1000 meters in a time of 2:39.43 while Dalton earned his top 10 (7th) in the 600 meters.
  • The 5000 meters would see Andrew Deel come home 7th.
  • RC would place 7th and 8th in the Pole Vault with Dillon Kopec recording a height of 11'9.75" and Miles Enstrom at 11'3.75".
  • Kyle Bland finished 6th in the Weight Throw with a final distance of 47'1".

Up next: The Maroons will be back in action next week when they host the Roanoke Invitational Challenge on Saturday.
