The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced their 2022 All State teams for Outdoor Track & field on Tuesday afternoon. The Roanoke college track team would see four men and seven women honored by the communications organization.
Samuel Crawford and Grace Fowler were each named to the 1st team while Elisabeth Cullen, Hannah Snodgrass, and Brady Fowler were named to the 2nd team. The men's 4x100 Relay team as well as the 4x400 women's Relay team both received a spot on the 2nd team.
Crawford was named 1st team as a sprinter. This past season, Crawford won the ODAC Championship in the 400M with a time of 48.17, one of the fastest times in the country. He was named All ODAC 1st team and was also a member of the, record setting, 4x100 relay team that finished runner-up at the ODAC Championship meet.
Brady Fowler was named a 2nd team sprinter after being named 3rd team All ODAC in the 100M Dash. Crawford and Fowler were joined by Blake Morin and Brandon Justice to be named 2nd team in the 4x100 Relay. The quartet were named 2nd team All ODAC after posting a, Roanoke program record, 41.69 seconds.
Grace Fowler was named to the 1st team in throws. She won the ODAC Championship in the spring with an 11.98m distance in the Shot Put. Fowler would then go on to finish 3rd in the Hammer Throw and 4th in the Discus, earning 1st team All ODAC accolades.
Snodgrass and Cullen were named to the 2nd team. Snodgrass, a hurdler, earned her spot on the all State squad after her runner-up effort in the 100M hurdles in a time of 14.98 seconds, earning 2nd team all-conference honors. Cullen joined fellow thrower Fowler as a member of the 2nd team. At the ODAC Championships, Cullen was crowned Champion in the Hammer Throw and followed it up with a 3rd place effort in the Javelin. For her efforts, Cullen was named 2022 ODAC Women's Track & Field Rookie of the Year. The Roanoke College 4x400 relay team of Haylee Gamble, Mikayla Hefferon, Lauren Henson, and Lily Lippert were named to the All State 2nd team after posting a championship winning time of 3:58.51 at the ODAC Championships.
