Highlights:

  • Fowler finished in a tie for 17th in the 20-man field in the preliminaries of the 60m dash at the Division III indoor championships at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
  • Fowler's time of 6.92 seconds left him even with MIT's Jeremiah Budiman. The mark was just shy of Fowler's school-record time of 6.84 seconds, which he set while winning the ODAC title at Cregger Fieldhouse two weeks earlier.
  • Sam Blaskowski of Wisconsin-La Crosse had the best qualifying mark, a time of 6.67 seconds that also broke the NCAA championship record. The three heat winners and the athletes with the five best remaining times all advanced to Saturday's championship race.
