The Basics
Event: WildCat Track Festival
Location: Lynchburg, VA | Randolph College
The Lead: Several members of the Roanoke College outdoor track & field teams took to action at Randolph College on Saturday.
Women's Highlights:
- The Maroons claimed four of the top five spots in the hammer throw. Abbey Gajtkowski placed second with a distance of 40.93m, followed directly by Grace Fowler (39.90m), Elisabeth Cullen (36.61m), and Caitlin Culhane (36.20m).
- Roanoke also produced three of the top five finishes in the discus, led by Gajtkowski's third-place showing at 32.24m. Claudia Disbrow came in fourth (32.16m), and Fowler placed fifth (31.07m).
- Claire Kinney came in fourth in the shot put with a mark of 11.10m.
Men's Highlights:
- A select group of Roanoke athletes generated a pair of Top 10 finishes. Curtiss Krause placed eighth in the hammer throw at 35.01m, and Jayven Bea placed 10th in the discus with a mark of 32.37m.
Up Next: The Maroons will compete in the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic at the University of Lynchburg on April 14-15.
