The Lead: The Roanoke men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 CVC contest to visiting Kean on Friday evening in the Cregger Center.
- Kean kicked off the match with a 5-0 run before the Maroons settled in and began going point for point with the Cougars. Midway through the set Kean used a 9-1 run to pull away with the middle point for the Maroons off a kill from Michael Cummins. A 4-0 run at the end of the set gave the Cougars the 25-12 set one win.
- The score remained close early in the second set with the Maroons trailing by just one, But a 5-0 run by Kean gave them a 10-4 advantage. After the teams traded a series of one-pointers, Roanoke went on a 3-0, then Kean on a 3-0 run then the Maroons on a 3-0 run. Eventually, with the Cougars leading 19-18, Kean won six of the last seven points for a 25-19 set-two win.
- Kean used a pair of runs early and late in the third set to stake themselves an 18-9 lead. Roanoke would then force a point-for-point, winning eight of the final 15 points, but the Maroons were unable to overcome the Cougar lead.
- Cummins led the Maroons with 11 kills with Leo Houser dishing out 16 assists.
