Cross-Country Teams Recognized for Academic Success

Salem, Va.—Both the Roanoke College Men's and Women's Cross-Country team have been recognized as U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Scholar Teams, while Peter Smith was honored individually for his work in the classroom as well.

For a team to be considered for this honor, it must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional meet and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale. Overall, there were 393 teams honored by the USTFCCCA, of which 215 were women's teams.

In order to qualify for this honor, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
