How it Happened:

• Senior Jamella Foster led the Maroons with 18 points followed by senior Cary Beahm with 16 along with 11 rebounds. Freshman Molly Hassell rounded out RC's double-digit scorers with 11 points.
• Roanoke shot 45% from the field going 33-for-72 while the Cougars shot 35% connecting on only 28-of-78 from the floor. 
• RC jumped out to a 26-6 lead in the first quarter after a 12-point run capped by a Foster lay-up following a defensive rebound. 
• After the half, Beahm and Holleran made back-to-back buckets for a 46-38 advantage.
• The Cougars pulled to within three off a jumper from Samm Chandler making it 63-60 7:35 left in the contest.
• With the game tied 71-71 with two minutes left, Foster gave RC the final lead of the game with a jumper from Hassell. 
• Averett pulled it within one point with 13 seconds left but the Maroon defense held off the Cougars, securing the win.
• The Cougars were led by Chandler with 21 points and 12 rebounds while Frida Lundquist talled 19 points.
