The Lead: Guilford outscored Roanoke 35-16 during the second and third quarters to take a 62-45 ODAC Women's Basketball win on Wednesday.
How it Happened:
- Allison Livengood had 11 point for the Maroons. Cary Beahm and Chris Martin had eight points apiece. Beahm had a team-high nine rebounds to go along with seven from Livengood.
- Kayla Scott had a game-high 14 points for Guilford and Amy Steller chipped in with 10. Anais Weatherly had six points and corralled a game-high 17 rebounds to help GC to a 53-39 edge on the glass.
- Roanoke took a 10-6 lead midway through the first quarter on an Ellen Wagner basket before Guilford scored eight of the final 10 points to lead 16-12 after the first 10 minutes.
- With the score 27-18 Guilford, the Quakers used an 8-2 run to up a 35-20 advantage. A Hassell three-pointer at the buzzer sent the team to the locker room with GC up 35-23.
- Guilford extended its lead to 49-28 after finishing the third quarter with a 10-3 spurt.
