The Lead:
Cary Beahm scored a game-high 23 points and snared a game-best 15 rebounds as Roanoke topped home standing Randolph 70-54 on Wednesday in ODAC action.

How it Happened:

  • Beahm was joined in double-digits by Bridget Holleran and Allison Yeaw who each had 12 points in the win. Chris Martin also had nine points for the Maroons. Jasmine Agee grabbed nine boards to help Roanoke to a 52-48 edge on the glass.
  • Randolph was led by Danielle Rizzari with 14 points while Taylor Samuels chipped in with nine points.
  • Beahm scored eight points in the first quarter as RC used a 10-2 run that was capped by a Martin basket that made the score 20-12 with 1:32 to go in the opening frame.
  • RC led 20-14 at the end of the first and 27-17 with 7:14 to go in the half. RC then scored 17 of the final 24 points to take a 44-24 lead into the break. Yeaw scored nine points in the second quarter, knocking down three, three-pointers.
  • An Alexis Calloway bucket trimmed the RC lead to 56-40 with under two minutes to play in the third quarter before a Yeaw three-pointer at the buzzer sent the teams to the fourth quarter with RC up 59-40.
  • Roanoke shot 32.4% making 22-of-68 shots from the floor. The Maroons also converted 21-of-34 attempts from the foul-line. Randolph made 20-of-61 attempts from the field but turned the ball over 20 times, leading to 36 Roanoke points on the other end.
