The Lead: Cary Beahm scored a game-high 23 points as Roanoke topped Shenandoah Saturday afternoon in ODAC Women's Basketball action.
How it Happened:
- Bridget Holleran joined Beahm in double-digits with 17 points while Allison Livengood added 11 of her own.
- The Hornets were led by Jordan Sondrol with 12 points while Erin French grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds paired with nine points.
- Roanoke shot 47.5% from the field, connecting on 29-of-61 attempts while SU went 19-for-61 for 31.1%. The Maroons tallied 25 points off 19 Shenandoah turnovers on the day.
- Roanoke jumped out to a 13-6 lead following a jumper from Allison Yeaw with 2:20 left in the first quarter.
- RC extended the gap to 38-28 at the end of the first half following back-to-back jumpers from Chris Martin and Beahm.
- Roanoke used a 6-0 run to close the third quarter, extending the lead to 52-37 following a Martin layup.
- The Maroons outscored the Hornets 23-14 in the final quarter, extending their lead to a game-best 25 points.
